AccuLock R consumables are compatible with the Tregaskiss MA1 fixed automatic air-cooled MIG gun, as well as the Tregaskiss MW1 and AW2 fixed automatic water-cooled guns for hard tooling automation applications. They are also available on the Tregaskiss 600-amp robotic water-cooled MIG gun, which is designed to improve productivity on demanding applications, such as welding thick plate or running prolonged duty cycles. Customers currently using TOUGH LOCK® consumables on their 600-amp robotic water-cooled gun can convert to AccuLock R consumables with no impact on Tool Center Point (TCP).

The consumables, including contact tips, gas diffusers and nozzles, are an option to select when customizing any of the guns using the Tregaskiss online configurators.

AccuLock R contact tips feature coarse threads that are responsible for virtually eliminating cross-threading, along with a long contact tip tail. The tail concentrically aligns inside the diffuser before engaging to ensure quick and accurate contact tip replacement, reducing time spent troubleshooting.

The AccuLock R contact tip has an increased mass at the front of the tip; plus, 60% of the tip is buried in the diffuser so it is protected from the arc’s heat. Tapered mating surfaces provide excellent electrical conductivity and also keep the consumables locked in place.

Bernard Expands AccuLock S Consumables Offering

Bernard Expands AccuLock S Consumables System

BEECHER, Ill. February 19, 2020 – Bernard has expanded its AccuLock™ S consumables system to include additional diffuser and nozzle types and sizes, as well as new contact tip options.

AccuLock S Consumables family including contact tip, nozzle, diffuser, liner and power pin
AccuLock S Consumables Family

The large AccuLock S consumables offering now features a new slip-on diffuser, along with a copper 3/8-inch bore tapered nozzle.

Bernard has also added two new diffusers that allow small AccuLock S consumables to be installed easily, including thread-on and slip-on versions — plus compatible brass and copper nozzles with 5/8- and 1/2-inch bores and brass nozzles with 3/8-inch bores. A variety of tip recesses are available within the selection of nozzles.

In the case of the small or large AccuLock S consumable offering, the same nozzle can install onto either a thread-on or slip-on diffuser.

New tapered ‘TT’ series contact tips (0.350-inch O.D.) are available to accommodate wire diameters ranging from 0.023 to 1/16 inch and are compatible with both small and large AccuLock S diffusers and nozzles. The ‘TT’ series contact tips pair with tapered-profile nozzles to provide the same tip recess and better weld joint access. Like other contact tips in the system, the ‘TT’ series contact tips feature coarse threads that easily mate with the gas diffuser to reduce the risk of cross-threading and to speed replacement.

The AccuLock S consumables, introduced in early 2019, were designed to reduce downtime, troubleshooting and rework associated with errors in liner trim length and erratic wire feeding. The system concentrically aligns the liner with the power pin and contact tip, locking it in place for a flawless wire feeding path. Welders don’t need to measure the liner during installation or replacement — they simply cut the liner flush with the back of the power pin for perfect liner trimming, every time.

In addition to contact tips, nozzles and gas diffusers, the AccuLock S consumables require an AccuLock S-specific liner, power pin and power pin cap.

AccuLock R Series Consumables Increase Throughput and Efficiency

WINDSOR, Ontario (November 14, 2019) – Tregaskiss has designed its new AccuLock™ R consumables system to virtually eliminate cross-threading issues and offers AccuLock HDP contact tips as an option within the series to extend tip life by 10 times or more in certain pulsed welding applications.

AccuLock R consumables family including contact tips, nozzle and slip-on diffuser

The consumables can help to reduce both unplanned and planned downtime in robotic MIG welding applications. By increasing efficiency, AccuLock R consumables help companies achieve annual cost reduction and throughput goals — with minimal risk or effort. They are ideal for applications in the automotive, fabrication and manufacturing industries.

For companies challenged with a shortage of experienced welding operators, reducing the need for replacement of the AccuLock R consumables means fewer human interactions within the welding cell and fewer opportunities for errors during installation. The coarse threads on the contact tip are responsible for virtually eliminating the risk of cross-threading and a long contact tip tail concentrically aligns within the diffuser prior to thread engagement, ensuring quick, accurate replacement. Eliminating cross-threading issues allows companies to spend less time troubleshooting and more time focused on weld quality and productivity initiatives.
AccuLock R consumables feature an enhanced contact tip-to-diffuser design. The contact tip features increased mass at the front and 60% of the tip is buried in the diffuser, protected from the heat of the welding arc, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Tapered mating surfaces ensure optimal electrical conductivity, while also keeping the consumables locked in place.

The Tregaskiss® AccuLock R and Bernard® AccuLock S consumables share a common contact tip available for welding wire sizes ranging from 0.023 to 1/8 inch. This common consumables platform™ simplifies inventory and reduces the chance of mistakes during changeover.

The consumables are compatible with front-loading QUICK LOAD® liners from Tregaskiss, as well as TOUGH GUN® CA3 and TA3 robotic MIG guns and Tregaskiss air-cooled fixed automation MIG guns. Current users of Tregaskiss® TOUGH LOCK® consumables or other contact tips and diffusers can, in most cases, easily change to AccuLock R consumables without affecting the tool center point (TCP) or needing to reprogram the robot.

MIG Gun Consumable System Simplifies Installation, Offers Flawless Wire Feeding

MIG Gun Consumable System Simplifies Installation, Offers Flawless Wire Feeding

BEECHER, Ill. March 6, 2019 – Bernard has introduced its new AccuLock™ S consumables system. Building on proven consumable technology, Bernard has added advanced design features that ensure higher productivity and optimized wire feeding, while also simplifying installation and maintenance. The system includes a contact tip, nozzle, gas diffuser, liner, and power pin and power pin cap.

“AccuLock S consumables represent a revolutionary improvement for users of industrial MIG guns,” says Linda Ray, Vice President and General Manager. “These consumables work together, as a complete system, improving performance and minimizing — if not eliminating — the most common gun maintenance issues.”

The AccuLock S consumables are designed to solve issues associated with poor wire feeding in semi-automatic MIG welding, such as bird-nesting, burnback and erratic arc. The system locks in place and concentrically aligns the liner with the power pin and contact tip for a flawless wire feeding path with no gaps or misalignments. There is no liner measuring required during installation or replacement. Welders simply cut the liner flush with the back of the power pin for perfect liner trimming — every time. Combined, these features decrease the risk of improper installation that could lead to costly downtime to address poor weld quality or liner replacement.

Image of AccuLock S MIG gun consumables including liner, nozzle, contact tip and diffuser

Adding to the ease of installation, the contact tips feature coarse threads that easily mate with the gas diffuser, lessening the chance of cross-threading and speeding contact tip replacement.

The AccuLock S consumables are designed to reduce heat buildup for long product life. Sixty percent of the contact tip is buried in the gas diffuser to protect it from heat damage, while shielding gas helps cool the contact tip tail. The tapered design of the consumables tightly lock conductive parts together to minimize electrical resistance and further reduce heat buildup.

As a complement to the AccuLock S consumables system, AccuLock MDX™ consumables launched with the new Miller® MDX MIG guns in February 2019. AccuLock R consumables for robotic welding applications will be released under the Tregaskiss® brand name later in 2019.

APPLETON, Wis. (February 6, 2019) — Miller Electric Mfg. LLC has introduced its new MDX™ series MIG guns. Designed with operator comfort in mind, these MIG guns feature a durable and ergonomic handle with a rubber overmolding for improved grip, while the addition of a ball and socket handle swivel reduces fatigue.

AccuLock™ series consumables add to the performance of the gun, providing a flawless wire feed path. The front-loading liner locks in place (no need for set screws) and aligns concentrically with both the contact tip and power pin to optimize wire feeding. Error-proof liner trimming, with no measuring required, reduces burnbacks, bird-nesting and erratic arc caused by liners that are too short, minimizing downtime for troubleshooting or rework.

The MDX series includes three models: MDX-100, MDX-250 and MDX-250 EZ-Select™. These guns are all compatible with Miller AccuLock MDX series consumables, and the MDX-250 and MDX-250 EZ-Select guns are also compatible with Bernard AccuLock S consumables. Both AccuLock series feature tapered connections between the contact tip, gas diffuser and neck to maximize electrical conductivity for longer product life. Coarse thread on the contact tips speeds replacement by mating easily with the gas diffuser and lessens the risk of cross-threading.

Bernard® AccuLock S consumables are an excellent upgrade to increase durability and consumable life when welding with MDX-250 or MDX-250 EZ-Select guns in heavier industrial environments. The new robotic water-cooled guns are available in a variety of amperages ranging from 350 to 600 amps at 100 percent duty cycle. Designed with a dedicated gas line that runs from the back of the guns directly to the gas diffuser, the guns deliver cost savings since shielding gas has zero opportunity to escape.

The guns also use a unique dual-circuit cooling system that runs the length of the front end, providing more effective cooling and lower operating temperatures. This feature results in longer MIG gun and consumable life, as well as less downtime for consumable changeover. Cooler operating temperatures also reduce the amount of spatter that adheres to the nozzle, saving time and money in cleanup, extending nozzle life and lowering overall consumable costs.

CWD and TWD Robotic Water-Cooled MIG Guns are available in clutch and solid mount models, with a variety of mounting arm and neck options to achieve Tool Center Point (TCP). They also include integrated air blast and a simple liner design, with one end pre-dressed at the factory to minimize the opportunity for operator variation in liner trimming.

Regain Up to 95 Percent of Lost Productivity for Tip Changes With the New TOUGH LOCK HDP Contact Tips

WINDSOR, Ontario. November 14, 2017 — Tregaskiss has introduced its new TOUGH LOCK® HDP contact tips, designed to significantly extend contact tip life in pulsed MIG welding applications — resulting in increased production throughput.

Precision engineered with a special alloy that provides a higher resistance to wear and arc erosion, the TOUGH LOCK HDP contact tips allow operations to regain as much as 95 percent of the productivity lost during typical contact tip changeovers. TOUGH LOCK HDP contact tips can do so by lasting six to 10 times longer than copper and chrome zirconium tips, which often need to be replaced twice as frequently during pulsed MIG welding due to its high heat input. The new contact tips also feature a tight bore tolerance, provide increased arc stability to improve weld quality and reduce spatter, along with its associated cleanup.

TOUGH LOCK HDP contact tips are available in packages of 5, 25 or 100 and can be used with .035-, .040- and .045-inch solid copper-coated wires. They are compatible with TOUGH LOCK Consumables, including nozzles and retaining heads, and require no change to Tool Center Point (TCP). The contact tips also benefit from compatibility with the TOUGH GUN reamer robotic nozzle cleaning station, which helps extend the life of robotic MIG guns and consumables by automatically removing spatter.
