LSR+ Unicables with SmoothTurn™ Technology

For use with TOUGH GUN® TA3 ThruArm® series robotic MIG guns, LSR+ (Low-Stress Robotic) unicables incorporate new SmoothTurn™ technology to maximize production uptime.
Conventional style unicables typically come with a connection that limits rotational capabilities and produces torsional stress in the cable. Unlike conventional unicables, the LSR+ incorporates a rotating power connection that reduces this stress during rotation. Additionally, a protective external conduit contributes to cable longevity by shielding components from harsh welding environments.

This is because we recently refreshed the design and format of these product manuals, but their contents remain the same. As of December 29, 2017, all TOUGH GUN® G2 and ThruArm® G2 series robotic air-cooled MIG guns will be discontinued as they are being replaced by TOUGH GUN CA3 and TOUGH GUN TA3 robotic air-cooled MIG guns. The TOUGH GUN G2 and ThruArm G2 series product lines will be fully supported with replacement parts (necks, cables, gun modules) until the end of 2018.

November 11, 2019 In September 2017, Tregaskiss entered into a Master Distribution Agreement with DINSE GmbH to provide best-in-class robotic water-cooled MIG guns to the North American market under the Tregaskiss® by DINSE™ brand name. After many discussions between Tregaskiss and DINSE, we have made an amicable and mutual decision to end our business relationship. This notice is to officially announce that Tregaskiss will discontinue sales of Tregaskiss® by DINSE™ Robotic Water-Cooled MIG Guns, parts and consumables as of April 30, 2020. Until that termination date, Tregaskiss will not accept orders from new customers but will continue to provide product to support existing customers. Details of affected part numbers can be accessed here. When current Tregaskiss by DINSE Robotic Water-Cooled MIG Guns eventually require replacement, end users have two options: After April 30, 2020, please obtain all replacement parts and consumables from the relevant manufacturer. Please contact your local representative with any questions regarding these changes.
December 2, 2019 Effective November 15, 2019, the TOUGH GUN® TT3E (Ethernet) reamer is now running updated firmware and software. The ARGEE software has been updated from version 4.0 to 4.1, and the firmware from version 3.5 to 3.6. July 1, 2018 Tregaskiss has made changes to its 5-Gallon (18.9 L) TOUGH GARD® anti-spatter liquid pail design for increased strength and durability. Designed with a heavy duty integrated handle, this new container is easier to handle and can be easily stacked for maximized storage space. The new design also offers an improved seal to eliminate spillage during shipping. Like the former pail design, this new 5-Gallon container is compatible with the TOUGH GARD anti-spatter multi-feed system. July 30, 2019 Tregaskiss has made the following changes to its TOUGH GUN® reamer cutter blades: The above changes will be implemented as a running change and will be sold under the same part numbers as the previous design.

Accordingly, due to low demand, the following products will be discontinued: Effective September 30, 2018, all standard and special Tandem MIG guns and necks will be discontinued and no longer available for sale. All service parts for Tandem torches will be available for sale until December 31, 2018, at which time all service parts for Tandem torches will be discontinued. July 24, 2017 As of December 31, 2017, legacy TOUGH GUN® ThruArm® G1 series product for ABB® IRB1600ID configurations will be discontinued, and effective immediately, lead time for part number 508-200ABB will be 15 days. Our legacy TOUGH GUN ThruArm G1 series was replaced by our TOUGH GUN TA3 series in 2014, but although A58G1S connector housing is the replacement for 508-200ABB connector housing, this unit will change tool center point (TCP) by approximately 1.428″. For those customers using a 508-200ABB with a 405-22QC neck, we will be able to develop a special 22-degree neck for use with the A58G1S module to match their existing TCP. However, due to a length restriction in manufacturing, we will not be able to match TCP for those customers using a 508-200ABB with a 405-45QC neck. In this case, reprogramming will be necessary when switching to an A58G1S. Additionally, when transitioning from the 508-200ABB to the A58G1S, the 58SA004 LSR Unicable will need to be replaced with the 58SA024 LSR Unicable, as the cable to torch connection is also different. April 28, 2017 An improvement has been made to the nozzle detect option for our TOUGH GUN® TT3 reamer. This same option is also now available on our TOUGH GUN TT3E reamer. This new nozzle detect uses a proximity sensor mounted on the side of the reamer that can be used independently of the ream cycle and is compatible with any nozzle size. The robot positions the front end of the MIG gun close to the sensor to detect the presence of the nozzle. If the nozzle is present, a signal is then sent back to the robot controller or PLC. April 28, 2017 Upgrades have been made to the TOUGH GUN® TT3 reamer to allow for a more common design between this model and the TOUGH GUN TT3E reamer. These upgrades include a common frame, replacement of the terminal strip with a new wiring harness, easy access setup switches, and a new check valve. April 15, 2017 The check valve on the TOUGH GUN® TT3 and TT3E reamer robotic nozzle cleaning stations have been upgraded to a more robust and durable design. December 18, 2019 Tregaskiss manufactures TOUGH GUN® TA3 through-arm welding torches for many Yaskawa® Motoman® robot models including but not limited to: On the current robot models listed above, the spacers and through-arm cables on a Tregaskiss® gun may originate from either Tregaskiss or from Yaskawa Motoman. It is important to note that the spacers and cables from Tregaskiss have significantly different dimensions than these same items from Yaskawa Motoman. This means that they are NOT interchangeable. Ordering the wrong replacement spacer and/or cable for an existing installation will significantly impact Tool Center Point (TCP) and cable life – please see Configuration Comparison Chart below for both solid mount and clutch mount setups with a short 45-degree neck for reference. For each model above, when a TOUGH GUN TA3 MIG gun is configured through Tregaskiss, the complete torch solution is Tregaskiss branded and includes: consumables, neck, torch, cable and power pin. For AR/MA1440, MH12, AR/MA2010, AR/MA3120, AR1730, MH24 models, the system also includes a Tregaskiss-specific aluminum spacer which allows us to bury the cable termination into the torch and away from the articulation on axis 5. When Yaskawa Motoman integrates a welding solution with Tregaskiss product, a Motoman through-arm cable replaces the Tregaskiss through-arm cable for all models listed above (consumables, neck, torch and power pin remain Tregaskiss branded). For AR/MA1440, MH12, AR/MA2010, AR/MA3120, AR1730, MH24 models, the system also includes a Motoman-specific plastic torch spacer which allows us to bury the cable termination into the torch and away from the articulation on axis 5. This Motoman spacer is shorter than the Tregaskiss spacer and as a result, the Motoman cable for this setup is also shorter than the Tregaskiss-specific setup. June 6, 2016 Effective immediately, the PER-2510 air motor for the discontinued TOUGH GARD® spatter cleaner is no longer available through Tregaskiss. As a result, the PER-2599 kit will no longer include the PER-2510 air motor (please see revised PER-2599 kit parts breakdown below). This Fiam® air motor may be available directly through another vendor (list provided below) and its product manual is available on the Fiam company website at www.fiamgroup.com/pdf/cat/EN/92.pdf. A complete Tregaskiss setup consists of all Tregaskiss branded components. The torch spacer will be aluminum and approximately 4-3/8″ in length. The cable will have a corrugated hose from front to back.
A hybrid Tregaskiss/Motoman setup consists of a Tregaskiss torch and consumables with a Motoman spacer and cable. The spacer will be approximately 2-3/8″ in length. The cable will have a loose spring from front to back.Improper Setup – Negative impact on TCP and/or cable life
Installing a Tregaskiss cable on a system with a plastic spacer will result in a cable that is too long. Although this cable can be physically installed, this setup will result in premature cable failure.
